Perfectly Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread (or muffins)

1 14.5 oz can pumpkin
4 each eggs
2/3 cup fat-free milk
1/2 cup canola oil
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 cups sugar
3 1/2 cups White whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons nutmeg
1 teaspoon cloves
1 cup dark chocolate chips


1. Preheat oven to 375-degrees. Combine pumpkin, eggs, milk, oil, applesauce and sugar in large bowl and mix well.
2. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves in medium bowl and mix well. Add this dry mixture to the pumpkin mixture and stir until well blended. Fold in chocolate chips.
For muffins: Place paper muffin cups into muffin pan. Spoon batter into muffin cups and bake 18 - 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
For bread: Spray two bread pans with cooking spray and lightly flour. Pour batter into pans and bake 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow bread to cool slightly, then invert onto rack to cool further.
